Community Narratives in Design
The Thesis Process, Fall 2020-Spring 2021
The objective is to investigate the relationship between social narratives, the role of an architect, and creating community spaces. My thesis will use audio ethnography and research to further understand communities. This process will begin by exploring conditions within my own community. Storytelling, methodical questions and videos will be combined to tell different stories. I'm excited to document this process publicly and see where this takes me.

Thesis proposal draft two
I presented Draft One to multiple faculty members and received an overall consensus to narrow my scope. After reviewing my own intentions for my thesis, I chose to narrow my scope by focusing on a specific site and its descendants. With careful consideration, I chose to investigate the site of the Christiansburg Institute. I will review the history, current, and previous site conditions, and introduce storytelling to influence my role as a designer. I hope to propose my own imaginative space towards the site.
